Vitamin E benefits for Skin and Hair – A wonder nutrient

Hi Everyone,

You must have heard of dermatologists recommending Vitamin E enrich skin care products. Usually, when you visit a dermatologist for concerns such as scars, anti-ageing, pigmentation, stretch marks, hair related problems etc. they refer some skin/hair care products that happen to address all your concerns and reprieve you from these problems. The one quintessential ingredient of these saviors is often Vitamin E. And, it’s not only recommended for outer application but also as a skin care supplement.

During one of my USA visits, my skin got very dull and hair started falling rapidly. Struck by these sudden changes in my body I visited a dermatologist, who suggested me to include Vitamin E capsules in my diet along with other recommended skin care products. Vitamin E capsules are good for skin but these should not be devoured without a doctor’s consultation.

However, you can get Vitamin E serums from the market for external application to get numerous skin and hair benefits.

Vitamin E benefits for skin

Defers ageing: As we age our skin starts losing its elasticity and becomes saggy. The firmness is mainly caused by collagen generation and cell turnover rate, but as we age this rate decreases and causes the skin to lose its bouncing power. Moreover, the kind of atmosphere we are all living in these days is filled with anti-skin elements such as pollutants, chemicals, stress and unhealthy lifestyle. All these scary rudiments cause pre-mature wrinkles and fine lines. But if we regularly stick to Vitamin E oil application, all these worries can be deferred. All you need to do is, before going to bed, sparingly apply Vitamin E oil on face and neck, and leave the rest up to this miraculous oil.

Skin moisturizer: People with dry skin you should religiously stick to Vitamin E application. It helps the skin to retain its moisture level, and keeps it soft & healthy. I have oily skin but still I regularly apply Vitamin E oil on my skin. Contrary to the thinking that oily skin people should not use Vitamin E as it breaks the skin out, I feel since I have started using this oil my skin texture has improved manifolds. And yeah, I am not facing any skin breakouts. :dancydancy:

Helps in reducing pigmentation, blemishes and dark spots: Pigmentation, blemishes and dark spots are a common problem these days. They are generally triggered by free radical damage or ageing. Vitamin E is believed to be effective in repairing free radical damage and lightening these spots, thereby providing even skin tone that is free of pigmentation and dark spots.

Improves the health of under eye area: Have you heard of crow’s feet or fine lines near eyes? They are the first signs of ageing or proof that you are not treating your skin well. Under eye area is the most sensitive area of our face. This skin is so delicate that it is always recommended to not to use any scrubs or face packs here. Even while applying an eye cream we should always use ring finger, as it causes the minimum pressure, to spread it out. Consistent use of Vitamin E can help deferring crow’s feet or fine lines. It smoothens out the skin and gives it a healthy appearance.

Helps in reducing stretch marks and acne scars: Stretch marks are a common difficulty that is faced while pregnancy. Even when somebody abruptly loses weight the skin stretches, leaving these stubborn marks. Normally, once these marks are in sight it becomes very difficult to shoo them away. But with regular massage of Vitamin E oil these marks get lighter over time. All you need to do is rubbing Vitamin E oil on affected area in circular motion. Vitamin E massage is also believed to fade away acne or other old scars. When this oil seeps into the skin, it repairs damaged cells and thus helps in scar fading.

Vitamin E benefits for hair

Prevents pre mature graying: Vitamin E oil is as much beneficial for hair as it is for skin. Mix it with runny consistency oil such as almond, mustard or coconut oil and massage your scalp with it. Vitamin E contains antioxidants that improves blood circulation and provides proper nourishment to hair. It repairs dead or dull hair roots, and thus stops pre-mature graying.

Encourages hair growth and adds shine to dull hair: Vitamin E has abundant nourishing capacity. When applied on scalp and along the length of hair, it provides hair proper moisture and conditions them well. After regular Vitamin E massage, you will notice considerable improvement in texture of dull hair. It also reduces fizziness, providing hair with a lustrous and healthy appearance.

Do you use Vitamin E oil for hair or skin or do you know any other benefits of this miraculous oil? Please share them with us in comment section below.
