By now, you must have known my love for nail polishes. I love to keep renewing my nail polishes stock, adding dull, bright, vibrant and versatile shades to it. Most of the times, I do not even try the tester before picking up a shade and I would confess that this has led to making poor choices as well. But no regrets as when I do not like a nail polish I pass it on to my sister (wrong, no? ). No, she is also not that give-me-anything girl. If she does like a thing she passes it further to her friends, and honestly I do not know what happens to the stuff thereafter.

Last weekend, I have added three more nail shades from ‘Maybelline Color Show’ range to my nail polish collection. Let’s have a look at one of them.

My Take on ‘Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish Keep Up The Flame 215 Shade’

All Maybelline color show nail polishes have been named very creatively, so does the 215 shade. I really admire Maybelline creative team’s thought process for choosing these catchy names. So far I have bought 7-8 MCW nail polishes, and all their shade names never fail to make me smile.

Maybelline Color Show ‘Keep up the flame’ is a vibrant red color that to me looks cheerful and full of life. Usually, I prefer those red shades that have black undertone but this one is an exception. It has yellow undertone that gives a fresh feel to hands. In my opinion, this shade would look equally well on every skin tone. It has the ability to add glamor to an average black dress, and also brighten up a dull outfit. Usually, I prefer to wear it with black and beige attires to balance color contrasting.

The texture is little different from other MCW nail paints I have tried so far, might be because of the shade. I feel that ‘keep up the flame’ has more runny consistency and less pigmentation. It does not get streaky but one coat definitely is not sufficient to get the color of the bottle. At least 2 coats are required to make nails look similar to the color of the bottle. In all the swatch pictures below I am wearing two coats, so you can decide upon the pigmentation.

Being a thinner consistency shade, it is easier to apply and dries out faster. Like other MCW nail polishes, it stays on intact for a minimum of 2 days. The smooth glossy shine gives a salon like look that is impossible to get in just 75 bucks. So why waste money at a salon when you can easily get the pampering at home and that too at no extra cost!

What I like about ‘Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish Keep Up The Flame 215 Shade’

– This is a very vibrant and lively red shade.
– It is a versatile shade that is fit for every occasion.
– It dries out quickly.
– For consecutive 2 days, it neither chips off nor loses its shine.
– It adds glamor to outfit.
– Like all MCW nail polishes, it has a reasonable price.

What I do not like about ‘Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish Keep Up The Flame 215 Shade’

– All the MCW nail polishes have fragile packaging. These bottles are not too sturdy to survive a fall. Once I accidentally slipped the bottle on floor (not from too much height) and it broke into pieces. :cry:

Final Word: A perfect shade for every occasion be it festivals, weddings, formal meetings or events. You can easily co-ordinate it with your attire and never feel out-of-place. It is not a loud shade rather a subdued one that is mute but radiant. I hope you get what I meant ;-) . Even if you are a person of pastel colors I would recommend you to try ‘keep up the flame’. You will never be disappointed by the freshness it bring to your hands and outfits.
