How is your weekend coming along? I did not realize where these 2 days flew away. Had a jam packed Saturday, where in addition to other household chores I got to shop a lot. Yes, I did looooots of shopping Yesterday, and to my amazement none of the shopped products was related to cosmetics or makeup . Luck was totally in my favour, I kept on liking the dresses and accessories, and even got them at good discount rates. This I feel is one of the rare cases when you like something and also get it at cheap price: icing on the cake .
Well let’s not deviate from Today’s topic, which is all about Lakme Absolute Stylist Gloss in Rust Crush shade. I bought this gloss a couple of weeks ago, and as I said in one of my previous posts here I am with the detailed review.
My Take on ‘Lakme Absolute Gloss Stylist – Rust Crush Lip Gloss’
Lakme has launched 6 shades in this range. I have already shared those swatches with you; you can again check them here. Rust Crush is kind of shade that I was looking-for for quite some time. This shade falls between orange and peach colors i.e. it is neither too neon like an orange color nor too subtle like a peach color. In the tube the shade looks like as that of a ripen papaya but when I actually apply it on my lips it comes as a very light peachy shade – exactly the one I was looking for. Moreover, rust crush is a buildable shade. That means more than one coat can provide full coverage for pigmented lips, giving you the shade of the tube. But usually I prefer going with just one coat, as that makes it apt for daily wear.
The wand is long enough to support easy application, and flexible enough to reach every nick and cranny. To avoid more gloss usage, a kind of hindrance is created at the tube neck that absorbs all the excess gloss before the lip brush comes out. The brush is very soft and glides on to the lips smoothly.
Regarding the texture, I find it non-sticky and satin on one coat. But if you apply multiple coats, the texture gets sticky. But I guess that would happen with any other lip gloss as well- more the number of coats more stickiness. The longevity is pretty much average i.e. 3-4 hours without meals.
I find this shade best suitable for n*de look with heavy smokey eye makeup.
For better look: For fine application, start applying the gloss from the middle of your upper lip, going downwards to left corner and then towards right corner. Similarly apply it on lower lip- from centre towards corners. Do not rub your lips together as that might cause the gloss to settle into fine lines.
