BeYu Pure Color And Stay Lipstick in shade Ruby Rebel is one of the two shades I got from the German color cosmetics brand. Both the lipstick shades are quite contrasting to each other. I have already reviewed the Rosy wine shade, which is the softer of the two, from BeYu hydro star lipstick range, and today I am sharing my thoughts about the Ruby rebel shade. My take on ‘BeYu Pure Color And Stay Lipstick’
The metallic black lipstick holder comes in a black cardboard case that speaks of the ingredient list, shade name and other details about the lipstick. The bottom of the cardboard case is color coded and contains the shade number. If you lose this fragile cover you won’t be able to identify the color without actually opening the lipstick. Also, the shade name is not mentioned anywhere on the lipstick. Anyways, I really like the classy and sturdy packaging. The brand name imprinted in silver on the cap of the lipstick holder, and gives a luxurious look. The cap closes with a sound which ensures that the bullet is safe and secure. Overall, I find the packaging stylish and durable.
Ruby rebel or shade 136 is a chocolaty brown shade with a maroon undertone. Being a dark shade it would go well with all skin tones. Personally, I prefer wearing such bold shades on special occasions only so if you ask me I would not wear it on daily basis. Definitely, this is the kind of shade that would make you stand out giving an intense bold impression.
It is made of natural waxes that aid the application and make it go smoothly on the lips. Its been quite long since I have exfoliated my lips still I find the application easy. The sharp tip makes the application precise negating the need for a lip liner but still, I will suggest using a lip liner if you are going to wear the lipstick for a long time.
This is a matte lipstick but I find the finish semi-matte, which is quite comfortable to wear. As claimed by the brand the formula is moisturizing and does not dry out the lips. It feels slightly heavy for about an hour or so after the application but goes easy later. The pigmentation is excellent as in just a single swipe I am able to attain almost opaque look. Since this is a dark shade, eating or drinking has to be cautiously done as it fades from the center and leaves an impression on the glasses. Other than that it has got good staying power of about 5-6 hours without meals. The only downside is that it settles in fine lines that look very prominent on the faded areas. So once faded it has to be reapplied for sure.
Removing this dark shade is comparatively easy as it does not stain the lips. All you need is a mild makeup remover or face cleanser to get if completely off the lips.
