My August month vellvette bag was supposed to be delivered in 2nd week of August but due to some shipment confusion it got delayed. I received this bag last week only so here I am writing about the products supplied in this bag. For those who do not know about Vellvette here is a brief introduction.

Vellvette.com provides a vellvette box/bag after you subscribe for their 1 month, 3 month, 6 month and 12 month subscription. The subscription prices are:
1 month – INR 499
3 months- INR 1099
6 months – INR 1999
12 months – INR 3599

Within a Velvette box, they send 3 beauty and grooming product samples along with discount coupons. If you like the sample and would want to purchase the full size then you can use those discount coupons. While registering on the site they ask you to fill a questionnaire, or you can say preferences, and the impression is that the Vellvette box product samples would be sent on the basis of that questionnaire. But it’s not the case, during my couple of vellvette subscriptions I did not find that my preferences were being taken care of. They just send you whatever they have got with them, even if you do not like lip gloss they will send you that as it is in their stock for that month. One more thing, initially they used to send these product samples in a black box but recently they have started packing the samples in small pouches, which are called vellvette bags. That is the reason you might find some bag to box and vice-versa switches in this article. Well, let us see what I have got in the August Vellvette bag.

1) Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Extreme in Sheer Pink Berry: This a full size lip gloss that contains cinnamon and claims to inflate or make you lips plumper. I have used this once; when I applied it there was a slight tingling sensation with cinnamon fragrance but not a prominent inflation. I did not find that it is living up to its claims; however the packaging is quite attractive.

2) Just Herbs Age Defying Treatment Kit (Samples): These samples were packed in a cute jute bag and contained anti-ageing face pack (20g), anti-ageing plump-up gel (15g) and anti-ageing anti-wrinkle cream (15g). I have not used them till now but I do not think I will able to judge them at all. These samples are too small to decide about their efficacy.

3) H2O+ Waterwhite advanced brightening hydrator cream: For a very long time, I wanted to try a H2O plus product but I felt disappointed when I received this miniature tube. This is a very small sample, just 8gm, which is not even sufficient to judge the effectiveness of this product. I wonder if it will last even for a week.

Bottom Line: I hope Vellvette paid more attention to the customer’s needs. I am not that fond of lip glosses but still they keep sending them. Additionally, they should send a little big samples of skin care products; any skincare product takes at least 2 weeks to start showing the results.
