But eye makeup is not complete without mascara. Mascara makes your eyes look bigger, fuller and more attractive. Second time, when I lost L’Oreal mascara tube I pledged to go for any other brand but L’Oreal. This new mascara has served me well so far. Rest you will come to know as you read the review.

My Take on ‘Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express Waterproof Mascara’

Maybelline The Falsies Volume Express Mascara comes in a big-fat purple tube. The cap of the tube holds the mascara brush via a flexible wand. Unlike the usual mascara brushes, Maybelline falsies mascara has a spoon shaped brush allegedly covering lashes from end-to-end. Its cap does not close with a click sound that I am very much accustomed to. (As I have been a loyal user of L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara) For me, the clicking sound used to serve a confirmation of closing the tube properly, and the satisfaction of spill-proof lock.

It is a tough task to reach inner corner lashes or fan out lower lashes. It took me lot of time to master this reach without smearing mascara around the eyes or on nose for that matter. Because of the adorable spoon brush in Maybelline Falsies mascara it has become easier to fan out the inner corner and lower lashes. Now, there are less chances of creating a mess. :dancydancy: 

I do not have such short/thin lashes but still I want them to look full and long. With Maybelline’s mascara that desired lash look is achieved after 2-3 coats. All I do is hold brush with spoon side upwards against lashes and sweep from root to tip to fill in gaps. Usually I get the look in 2 coats, but for a more voluminous look I do not mind sweeping an extra coat. Just want to point out that while repeating coats one should not let the mascara dry in between. Not doing so, can cluster the lashes and make them uneven.

It does not feel heavy on the lashes and neither does it make them hard. I wear it all day long without feeling anything on my lashes. The finish is cluster free and non-clumsy. It adds enough volume to my lashes that usually I do not need to repeat the 3rd coat. They look bigger and thicker.

One more thing I want to highlight is that unless and until you do not have a dire need of a ‘waterproof mascara’ then do not go for it.Maybelline falsies waterproof mascara is difficult to remove even with soap and water. Even when I use makeup remover and then wash my face using a cleanser, the black mascara traces are left behind. :cry:

What I like about ‘Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Waterproof Mascara’

– Does not feel heavy or hard on lashes.
– Does not cluster the lashes.
– Provides volume.
– Provides prominent lengthening effect.
– The spoon brush makes it easier to cover inner eye corners and lower lashes without creating any mess.
– As compared to other mascaras this one is quite budgeted.
– Good consistency – neither very thick nor runny.

What I do not like about ‘Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Waterproof Mascara’

– Difficult to remove with soap and water even after using makeup remover.
– The wand is not too sturdy – this is a con for me as I am used to ‘L’Oreal volume million mascara’ that can withstand solid grip on the wand.

Final Word: ‘Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Waterproof Mascara’ is much better than other expensive drug store mascaras. Without making your lashes feel heavy or hard, it provides volume, length and grace to them. But be careful if you are going for its waterproof version. I would prefer the normal version over waterproof any day – this is a lesson learnt for future mascara purchases as well.
