Marks and Spencer Pampering Cocoa Butter Shower Gel Review

October 12, 2014 / 12 Comments / Shailja Vashisht

Hi Everyone,

Today, I am reviewing yet another product from my recent ‘Marks and Spencer’ shopping. If you have seen my last ‘First Glimpse’ post then you must be aware that a couple of weeks back I bought some skin care products from M&S; mainly because they do not test on animals and because their products have cute packaging. I know the second reason does not suffice to a wise purchasing-decision but I cannot resist myself from falling for these eye-candies.

What the product says

Experience daily luxury with our nature’s extracts collection. This shower gel enriched with extracts of cocoa butter and vanilla with added moisturiser will cleanse your skin and help leave it soft, smooth and delicately scented.

My Take on ‘Marks and Spencer Pampering Cocoa Butter Shower Gel’

M&S pampering cocoa butter shower gel comes in a flip open tube. This tube is easily squeezable. Infact when it is more than half filled I just have to open the cap to take out the product. But be careful as just a little push oozes out lot of product. The shower gel is totally transparent and smooth. The fragrance is a mixture of cocoa and vanilla extracts that does not please my nasal senses. Rather it smells more of soap than cocoa or vanilla.

According to the directions mentioned on the tube one can either take a small amount to hands or a body puff and massage all over the body. I have not tried using it via hands but yeah taking a dollop of the shower gel on a wet loofah creates lather for one time usage. Unlike my previous shower gel this one does not create abundant lather instead sometimes it even calls for 2 dollops for a satisfactory bath.

The one thing I like the most about this shower gel is that it is easy to rinse off. It does not get stick to the skin or make me feel that my skin has got a slippery touch. Long time back I use M&S fig body wash, believe me that was the most stubborn wash I have ever used. When I was using that product I used to struggle with water to get rid of the annoying slippery feel. Thank God, the pampering cocoa butter has got a better formula.

In regards to efficacy, it does not make my skin dry or patchy. Since I have started using this shower gel there are times when I skip applying the body lotion and doing so does not cause any dehydrated effect on my body. My skin looks moisturized and smooth all day long. I feel this property of pampering shower gel will be a major reason to persuade me to stick to it in winters as well.

What I like about ‘Marks and Spencer Pampering Cocoa Butter Shower Gel’

– It does not make my skin dry.
– When used on a wet loofah it lathers well.
– It is easy to rinse off as it does not leave a slippery feel behind.
– It has a cute packaging- that’s not really a pro but that was also one of the reasons why I purchased this shower gel.
– It is enriched with cocoa butter and vanilla extracts that leave the skin moisturized.

What I do not like about ‘Marks and Spencer Pampering Cocoa Butter Shower Gel’

– It contains lots of parabens. Almost every M&S product I have tried so far has this awful chemical.
– It is available only at M&S stores.
– The fragrance does not stay on for long.

Ingredients of ‘Marks and Spencer Pampering Cocoa Butter Shower Gel’:

Final Word: Formulated with cocoa butter and vanilla extracts M&S Pampering Cocoa Butter Shower Gel keeps the skin moisturised and hydrated for long hours. The smooth gel like texture forms sufficient lather that is easy to rinse off. As it does not make it mandatory for me to use an after-bath body lotion I might stick to it in winters. This thing is really a plus point as it can save a couple of minutes when I am short on time.
