With the start of monsoon season there is a great respite from roasting heat but at the same time rise in humidity level is making hair unmanageable. After every wash my hair used to look more dull and rough. In spite of oiling and conditioning, its heath continued to deteriorate. Tired of not seeing any improvement in hair health, I preferred to go out with unwashed oily hair to shampooed rough hair. Honestly, I do not like to use heat or chemical treatments to style my hair. Recently, when I was on the verge of giving up to heat treatments (to reduce fizziness) an SA recommended to use ’Loreal Total Repair 5 Instant Smoothing and Nourishing Oil Serum’. I did not give a second thought to try it out as that would have been my last alternative to save the hair from unwanted heating tools.

My Take on ‘Loreal Total Repair 5 Instant Smoothing and Nourishing Oil Serum’
Loreal hair serum comes in a small flip open bottle, which can be easily carried over in a handbag or makeup kit without any fear of dripping. Every time I am travelling I carry it in my cosmetic kit, and it does not spill at all. The serum has oily texture with mild fragrance that does not overpower my shampoo’s fruity fragrance.

After shampooing, when my hair gets semi dry I divide it into two halves. Put coin size quantity on my palm, rub them together and apply on one half of my hair along the length of hair (sparing roots and scalp).Then I repeat the same procedure with another half while softly massaging hair till my palms are entirely or partially dry. After 2-3 minutes, when I detangle my hair the detangling job feels way easier in comparison to when there is no serum.

Coming to efficacy, when serum laden hair gets dry it looks less frizzy. It becomes softer and smoother. Though this is an oil serum yet it does not make hair look oily or weighed down. Rather hair looks freshly shampooed in a manageable manner. After every use, it imparts a subtle shine to hair that makes it look healthier. Now, I am not afraid of shampooing my hair and keeping them loose :dancy_s: , and I do not even have to make my hair pass through those heating rods :yahoo: .
How to apply ‘Loreal Total Repair 5 Instant Smoothing and Nourishing Oil Serum’
For best results, use on towel dried, damp hair. In both the below scenarios, do not rinse. Just leave in.
– Take a few drops of the serum onto the palms of your hand. The amount of serum depends on the length of your hair. Rub hands together and distribute evenly along the lengths of your hair, paying particular attention to the ends.
– Can also be used on completely dry hair prior to combing for intense shine & smoothing.

Final Word: This hair serum has come as a rescuer for my frizzy dull hair. In a short time, it has become an indispensible part of my monsoon hair care routine. In my opinion, we should keep L’Oreal hair serum or any other good hair serum for that matter handy, so that we do not have to frequently use harmful chemical or heating treatments just to make hair manageable.

it does a good job but i dont use it often bcz of chmical build up.. :P

Well, i am following the L’oreal Paris Total Repair 5 programme. It includes the shampoo,serum,conditioner and masque. I used to only use shampoo and conditioner but i just bought the other two. After using it my hair’s frizz has come down a lotttt (thank heavens) But my hairfall has increased :cry: So it sucks. But other than that, the serum has awesome power cause it made my hair shine and smoother and softer!! :yahoo: :dancy_s:
