As summer season is on full swing, so does the drift to flaunt off trendy sunglasses. Before starting off further, I must say I was not into wearing sunglasses. They always used to give me a headache. But when my ophthalmologist suggested that I had to wear them in order to save the plummeting vision, I reluctantly got myself used to this habit. Looking at the hazardous consequences of bolstering pollution level and global warming, it becomes imperative to save eyes from the harmful effects of UVA and infrared rays, in addition from what all detrimental elements are present in the atmosphere. The good thing is adorning sunglasses is like “killing two birds with one stone”. They save your eyes, and at the same time enhance your style quotient.
Several types of sunglasses such as Novelty, Aviators, Cat Eyes, Retro Square, Round, and many more are available to beat the summer heat. However, choosing the best one depends on your face structure and personal liking. My favourite ones are oversized, aviators, retro Square and sport. Though all these shapes do not suit my face, yet I like all of them on others. Let’s have a look at the shapes of these sunglasses, and see what will suit who.
Aviators: Usually aviators have dark metallic rim that is quite sleek in width. The lenses are smoked that means they are kind of translucent. These glasses were first made by Ray-Ban for fighter pilots in World War II, and now almost every renowned brand is designing these glasses simply because of the huge demand and sale ratio. This type is more or less unisex, and they look quite elegant on everybody who wears them.
Oversized: As the name says these glasses are quite big than your actual face but they do give you a glamorous, celebrity look. That’s the reason they have become the hottest trend these days. These glasses come in almost all shapes: round, rectangular and oval. The best trick to make them look good on your is not to choose the shape as that of your face. For example, if I have round face I would never go for round oversized glasses, rather would settle for a rectangular pair. Similarly if you have square or angular face prefer round oversized glasses. Apart from the shape, the rims of these glasses have a huge gamut. They come in every design from simple colourful plastic, flowery and tortoise designs.
Retro Square: Retro sunglasses are timelessly into fashion, and they have been doing really well since their inception. The only thing that has changed in this class of glasses is the frame style. The frame styles vary from sleek to wide rims, and plain to glossy fashioned tortoise designs. These types of sunglasses look best on oval and round face shapes. So if have any of those face structures, go fetch them girls.
Sport: When I hear this category, the first visualization that comes in front of me is dashing sportsmen looking more dashing in sport sunglasses (that was lot of ‘sport’ 😉 ). Jokes apart, these are the sleek glasses that usually provide full coverage to the eyes, and save them from dust or external particles. People, who are into sports, wear these types of glasses in order to stay focused on their targets. You may find these sunglasses in myriad colourful rims or even in simplest one colour.
So, depending upon face shape, occasion and style statement you can choose whatever suit you best. I have seen people keeping different type of sunglasses for different occasions: aviators for formal or business meets, oversized sunglasses for fun outings and sport sunglasses for adventurous trips. Irrespective of the style you choose, ensure that to get the dual benefit these glasses have the ability to save the eyes from harmful rays.
